How to Change Engine Oil on FAW V2 — Step by Step

Warm up the engine

Run engine for 2–3 minutes. Warm oil flows out faster and carries more contaminants. Do not run at full temperature.

Drain old oil

Remove drain plug under the car. Let oil drain fully into a pan. Replace drain plug with new washer. Torque to 25–30 Nm.

Replace oil filter

Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter. Apply a thin film of new oil to the new filter gasket before installing. Tighten by hand + 3/4 turn.

Add new oil

Pour 3.5 litres of 5W-30 Full Synthetic through the filler cap on top of the engine. Use a funnel to avoid spills.

Check level

Start engine for 30 seconds, switch off, wait 2 minutes, check dipstick. Level should be between MIN and MAX. Add more if needed.

Record the service

Note odometer reading and date in your service book. Set a reminder for the next change interval.
